"Take the Field with the A's" is a unique opportunity for East Bay youth baseball and softball teams to interact with their favorite players. Prior to select weekend home games, a youth team will join the A's on the field for the national anthem before staying to enjoy the game. For the 2022 season, all "Take the Field" participants of all ages are required to comply with Major League Baseball's on-field COVID-19 policy. Anyone who will have direct contact with Covered individuals (e.g. Take the Field) must be "up to date" with their COVID-19 vaccines. Individuals are only considered "up to date" if: (i) two weeks have passed since they received their second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or their first dose of a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson); and (ii) they have received a booster dose of either Pfizer or Moderna, if eligible for one (regardless of which initial vaccine they received). Anyone who received their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna more than five months ago, or received their first dose of Johnson & Johnson more than two months ago, is eligible for a booster.
